Later, she's at lunch with the recently separated Reverend Green -- Orson shows up, and Bree asks if she can take the reverend's hand to convince Orson that things are really over between them. It works and Orson leaves. Unfortunately, the Reverend takes this as a sign that Bree might be romantically interested in him and makes an advance on her. She puts the Reverend straight insisting that she is not interested in him – he is offended.
At church the following Sunday, the Reverend has planned a special sermon about a “redheaded harlot in their midst”; Orson, hearing this, seeks out Reverend Green, insisting he cannot give his sermon. They accidentally activate the P.A. system, which transmits their entire argument to the whole congregation. Bree, mortified tries to sneak out, but rushes back to the Reverend’s office only to find an unconscious Orson. He is taken to the hospital. While Bree goes to see him, she does not enter his room, but asks that they take excellent care of him because he is “a good man”.
